I started singing at the tender age of 13 with my local amateur dramatics and theatre companies. This gave me excellent training and guidance for taking my singing to the next level while continuing to perform in theatres around the Midlands for many years.
I had already met Jo (singer in the band) when working together in previous projects and became good friends often lending a hand or should I say voice when required with the Commitments Too in my early twenties, and I have to say I loved every minute of it!
Jo called upon me when she said Soul Devotion was being formed and I jumped at the chance to be a full time member of this fantastic 10 piece live soul band. I found it exciting to sing Soul, Disco and Motown tunes and went on to help structure the original four part harmonies and dance arrangements, and continue to do so in our ever changing set list. The passion, the drive and the energy leave me wanting more after each gig and it's all about encouraging one another into performing and creating an electric atmosphere that we are all equally proud of.
I am known as the 'smallest member of the band' and have got used to the many jokes about my diddy mic stand etc etc....but I love it, we are like family and know one another inside out, the banter is hilarious and is just as much on stage as off, come and see us in action and you will see that we have just as much fun on stage as those in the crowd, while still creating a fun professional show. We are Soul Devotion!
